Sounds more like a hardware performance issue, if Youtube/Google earth lags while playing. It happens more while using the internet, so Youtube does it and so on. Here's what I learned and how I resolved it:I added a second hard drive and a controller card to my system. - Outdated antivirus often tends to slow down the system.
- Try first looking through your system event log for any errors or warnings that could be driver related.

Still happens.I have stopped all antivirus programs and only running apps were systray and explorer. Turnoff Windows sidebar or desktop enhancement software if you don't need them. Debugging is really something you should use Google extensively for.
