It is still running and has a high cpu, but it isn't freezing my system. If it was freezing before hand you might as well leave them on there since they are Windows patches that you probably should have anyway.

Please help! And even then, when I tried to update manually the svchost.exe problem started again and the updates wouldn't finish. There are also rumors that Microsoft will be making the actual fix available in a future automatic update. This was a lot of help for me as far as a starting point.
