solved Graphics Card recognized as VGA Standard Graphics Adapter solved Standard VGA Graphics Adapter in Device Manager. I tried a lot but was unable to get anything up on monitor. my graphics card is a geforce 9800 gtx+. took me a while 2 find. Most likely, it is the CPU, in which case you (or your local repair shop) have to remove the cpu and add new thermal paste and re-seat it properly.
