System Hanging After New HD Install
thats tomorrow! Start a new discussion instead. I'm not the only one with this problem but forum threads were usually: Filled up with replies from people saying, "me too". Should I still defragment after new windows installation? New Hard Drive Keeps Freezing The solution proposed looks far more risky to the system than simply deleting Acronis TrueImage and using a different product solution. Secondary Hard Drive Freezing Computer I havent installed Acronis yet, but I am convinced as the behavior is the same.

I bench marked the SSD in this configuration and it is running at super fast speeds of AHCI (400Mb/s) but with the same stability I had in IDE mode. My hangs only happen when the snapshot is taken. DiskCheckup says my drive temp is 42C. If anyone has any suggestions or has experienced a similar problem, let me know. when in win8/8.1 it not really locked, it just need you to boot on safe mode after change to ahci in bios that all you need to do.
We need more people like you all, posting valuable information and not just problems but solutions instead. I'm confused as to why you're supposed to check half the disabled services as the first step; why not start by checking one and go from there? I found it hard to put down. Tried the drive in a friend's computer, and it seemed to work fine.
It actually had a previous installation of Windows 7 on it, from the computer I salvaged it from. Much to my surprise this solved the entire issue! Others also say to downgrade the Video card driver.
