Delete the SoftwareDistribution folder from C:\Windows 3. Aelookupsvc High Cpu If this folder is corrupted, then you will face problems during Windows Update. i sugest you run THREATFIRE or some such security program to catch it.

I still have the Windows Update Service disabled or I get 50% CPU usage on svchost. Let me tell you now, Task Manager will not save you. To be on the safe side I changed the Startup type of this service from "Automatic (Delayed Start)" to "Manual".
