I click run & nothing happens. This is less than ideal, but it works well and the computer can be scanned for updates without problems. OK - go into Software Sources, supply your password, go to the Other Software tab, and enable the line "http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu lucid partner". Make sure you have plenty of RAM to do this (minimum 515mb preferred).
It does not matter how long you've been using computers and what you think you know. or just make it less occuring. I was ready to do a new clean install of Windows, which would have been very inconvenient right now with the amount of work I need to do on the comp, As soon as I disabled the Windows Update Service the cpu went from 50% plus usage to a few percent.
