all the icons went away , and even though I tryed loging in as a diff user and turning off/on , restarting, etc nothing seemed to work. Deleted explorer.exe file, restarted and all my icons, toolbar, and start menu appeared. - Anyway, after deleting the Explorer.exe, I went back to the run command and typed explorer.

Also, if your mouse pad is dirty (with hair or lint) then this can also cause the mouse to go 'haywire'. news It worked for me and savedme days of trying to figure it out. Under Pick a Task click on "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore". Thanks.

Thanks! Vista , Win 7: There are two places that you can use the system restore feature from. I still don't know what made those tabs disappear in the first place but they are back now. check my blog It's very easy to make your computer non-usable if you edit the wrong entry.
