In my case (with 25% usage and 4CPU's), I first stopped the wuauserv WindowsUpdate service and noticed 0% CPU. How can't big guys like you just see that those "experts" are just playing "the professor" with you, whatever the consequences.

If after doing all these, you still face high CPU or Memory usage problems, then disable Windows Update completely or re-install Windows on you computer. When you go into Task Manager, is svchost.exe using 99% CPU?
I have downloaded all the files listen above and followed every direction. I knew it was the solution as the services and cpu load were going back and forth between 'trusted installation' and 'network services'. Deleting the Value "NetworkService = DnsCache" in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WinNT\CurrentVersion\SvcHost did the trick for me on a lot of systems. Svchost.exe Cpu Reinstall Windows Update Agent.
