If I start an update for my Windows7, the message "Es wird nach Updates gesucht" pops up and stays "endless". Sometimes even trying to click the file in Explorer would cause an error and Windows to say it didn't want to play the file. The first thing I did was disable Windows automatic updates, which freed my CPU from the dreaded svchost.exe lock up. I think this did the job. What else is odd is I can't shut down my PC unless I end hpqtra.exe. I had the same problem with Genuine Windows Update KB905474 freezing and using 100% CPU. If you do all the garbage listed here, for sure SVCHOST will not bother you anymore :) Your PC will be dead until format and reinstall.

  10. I may not know how to fix the problem myself, but I know enough to know that blindly installing .bat files (or even the .exe's) can be very dangerous.

Now it is filled with 5.25GB of data in 69,886 files and 3822 folder after about 1 hour of downloads.
